During bouts of chilly winter weather, pipes are susceptible to freezing and bursting. To protect your pipes and avoid costly repairs, set the temperature inside your home to at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit. When the weather is particularly frightful, turn faucets on to a slight drip to keep water moving through the pipes and help prevent them from freezing.
