Both the Sandpearl Resort and Opal Sands Resort were ranked near the top on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards for top resorts in Florida.
The 253-room Sandpearl was No. 7 while the 230-room Opal Sands was ranked No. 8 on the list, which also has the Resort at Longboat Key in Sarasota in the No. 5 spot.
Eric Waltz, the Sandpearl’s general manager, said: “This marks our fifth consecutive year on the Readers’ Choice Awards list and it’s an honor to be ranked the No. 7 resort in Florida.”
Saying the award is a testament to the hotel team’s achievements and interaction with guests, Waltz added, “we’re very appreciative of our guests who took the time to vote for us. Between this and our recent 10-year anniversary, we’ve had much to celebrate these past couple of months.”
Back in July, the Sandpearl also was named one of the best resorts by Travel + Leisure magazine and before that it made the AAA’s Four Diamond Awards list.
At the Opal Sands, general manager Jeff Castner said, “Since opening a little over a year and a half ago, we’ve really worked hard to curate our guest experience and it’s very rewarding to know our guests have enjoyed the elevated service and special moments we create.”
The Opal Sands, a 15-story, semi-circular property, put great emphasis on local artwork and food when it opened in February 2016. Like its sister hotel, the Sandpearl, Opal Sands also made the AAA Four Diamond Awards list this year.
Both hotels are owned by Ocean Properties Ltd. Hotels & Resorts, which is based in Delray Beach.
