It’s good to work in Tampa Bay.
Fourteen Bay area employers are among the 185 best companies to work for in Florida, according to Forbes’ first state-by-state list of America’s Best Employers. The business magazine collaborated with Statista, a market research company, to identify which organizations employees like the best.
St. Petersburg based-Raymond James Financial has 18,550 employees and is the third-best employer in the state, and the top employer in Tampa Bay. Lakeland-based supermarket chain Publix Super Markets Inc., with 193,000 employees, is the second-best employer in the Bay and 10th-best in the state. Third-best in the area (and 21st-best in the state) is Tampa-based Bloomin’ BrandsInc., the 94,000 employee parent company of Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
The fourth- and fifth-best employers in Tampa Bay are the University of South Florida (32nd-best in the state) and Tampa-based Moffitt Cancer Center (49th-best statewide).
